Jean Brinton Jaecks is a plein air landscape painter. "Painting light and atmosphere is the essence of my work. The love of nature compels me to work out of doors in all seasons and weather. To express that moment in time, the mood and light that has brought me to this particular subject, is what I hope to achieve as a painter. " Jean received her BFA from Maryland Institute of Art and an MFA from George Washington University. She has studied with colorist Henry Hensche at the Cape Cod School of Art. In the summer, Jean teaches plein air workshops in the gardens of Annapolis. Jean is also a painting instructor for St. John's College, the National Arboretum, the US Botanic Garden and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art in Washington DC. Her paintings have exhibited at the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Exhibit at the National Arts Club, NYC, the National Adirondack Exhibit of American Watercolors, the McKissick Museum, Columbia, SC and the Heritage Museum, Taladega, Alabama.
